Veith Selk und Julian Nicolai Hofmann veranstalten gemeinsam mit dem Point Alpha Research Institute (PARI) einen internationalen Workshop zu den Themen Cold War Liberalism und Postliberalismus.<\/p>

From Cold War Liberalism to Postliberalism<\/strong><\/p>

Der Liberalismus ist zum Gegenstand einer Debatte geworden, die durch die Erosion der \u201eliberalen Weltordnung\u201c und die schwindende Attraktivit\u00e4t liberaler politischer Ideen gepr\u00e4gt wird. Die hegemoniale Stellung des Liberalismus als dominanter Rahmenideologie des Westens erscheint infolgedessen fragw\u00fcrdig und es werden dezidiert postliberale Alternativen diskutiert. Die Veranstaltung kn\u00fcpft an diese bis jetzt vor allem in den USA und dem UK gef\u00fchrte Diskussion an und fragt nach ihrer Bedeutung f\u00fcr den deutschen und europ\u00e4ischen Kontext.<\/p>

Der interdisziplin\u00e4r angelegte Workshop thematisiert hierf\u00fcr zum einen die Geschichte des liberalen Denkens und deren Relevanz f\u00fcr die Gegenwart. Welche Lehren k\u00f6nnen aus der Vergangenheit des Liberalismus gezogen werden, insbesondere w\u00e4hrend und nach dem Kalten Krieg? Zum anderen wird die politische Nachhaltigkeit (neo-)liberaler wie postliberaler Ideen angesichts sich wandelnder politischer und sozialer Bedingungen sowie drohender milit\u00e4rischer und ideologischer Konflikte diskutiert. Hat der Liberalismus eine Zukunft?<\/p>
