Kriege, Krisen, Systemkonflikte \u2013 wie geht es weiter mit der Internationalen Ordnung? Welche Bedeutung hat das V\u00f6lkerrecht? Und ganz allgemein: welche Rolle spielt das Recht in einer zerrissenen Welt?<\/p>

Das von der Hochschule Fulda, der Universit\u00e4t Erfurt, der Stiftung Point Alpha und der Stadt Geisa getragene Point Alpha Research Institute (PARI) veranstaltet vom 8. bis 10. Dezember 2024 im Schloss Geisa und im Haus auf der Grenze\/Gedenkst\u00e4tte Point Alpha den Workshop \"Of Borders, Law and the World\". Unter anderem wird es dabei in einem \u00f6ffentlichen und international besetzten ExpertInnengespr\u00e4ch um diese Fragen gehen.<\/p>

Auf der Grundlage des gleichnamigen, 2023 bei Harvard University Press erschienenen Gespr\u00e4chsbandes der beiden weltweit angesehenen V\u00f6lkerrechtler David Kennedy (Harvard) und Martti Koskenniemi (Helsinki) sollen Herausforderungen und Perspektiven internationaler Ordnung und v\u00f6lkerrechtlicher Normkonflikte diskutiert werden. Ankn\u00fcpfungspunkt ist f\u00fcr diesen Austausch von Wissenschaftlern und Wissenschaftlerinnen verschiedener Disziplinen und Generationen dabei nicht zuletzt der Veranstaltungsort selbst, der zur\u00fcckf\u00fchrt in die Zeit des Kalten Krieges.<\/p>

Point Alpha markiert ein geopolitisches Kr\u00e4ftefeld, zwischen \u201eOst\u201c und \u201eWest\u201c und zwischen verschiedenen Ordnungen, das die professionelle Entwicklung der beiden in Geisa anwesenden Protagonisten in ihren Anf\u00e4ngen beeinflusst hat und bis heute fortwirkt.<\/p>

Bewusst wollen die Veranstalterinnen, PARI-Beiratsmitglied Alexandra Kemmerer vom Max-Planck-Institut f\u00fcr ausl\u00e4ndisches \u00f6ffentliches Recht und V\u00f6lkerrecht in Heidelberg und Berlin und PARI-Direktoriumsmitglied Claudia Wiesner von der Hochschule Fulda, globale Herausforderungen in einem lokalen Kontext ins Gespr\u00e4ch bringen, der \u00fcber Jahrzehnte stark von weltpolitischen Ereignissen gepr\u00e4gt wurde. Dabei wollen sie auch Fragen von B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrgern aufnehmen.<\/p>

In einem \u00f6ffentlichen Podiumsgespr\u00e4ch am Montag, 9. Dezember 2024, um 19 Uhr im Roten Salon des Geisaer Schlosses soll es unter dem Titel \u201eAuf der Grenze: V\u00f6lkerrecht zwischen Niedergang und Neuordnung?\u201c um aktuelle Herausforderungen an die internationale Ordnung und m\u00f6gliche Antworten aus Rechts- und Politikwissenschaft gehen. Nach einem Gru\u00dfwort von B\u00fcrgermeisterin Manuela Henkel diskutieren auf dem Podium David Kennedy (Harvard University) und Martti Koskenniemi (Universit\u00e4t Helsinki) mit Isabel Feichtner (Universit\u00e4t W\u00fcrzburg), Alexandra Kemmerer (MPIL Heidelberg\/Berlin) und Claudia Wiesner (Hochschule Fulda). Es moderiert Maxim B\u00f6nnemann vom Verfassungsblog.<\/em>Die Veranstaltung findet in deutscher und englischer Sprache statt, alle Beitr\u00e4ge k\u00f6nnen \u00fcbersetzt und Diskussionsbeitr\u00e4ge nat\u00fcrlich auf Deutsch eingebracht werden.<\/p>

Auch die vorausgehende englischsprachige Sitzung von 17:00 bis 18:30 Uhr, in der es unter anderem im Gespr\u00e4ch mit dem fr\u00fcheren australischen Diplomaten und derzeit an der Humboldt-Universit\u00e4t zu Berlin forschenden V\u00f6lkerrechtler Malcolm Jorgensen um Systemkonflikte und Konkurrenz unterschiedlicher Auffassungen von V\u00f6lkerrecht und globalen Normen, um Hegemonie und Differenzierung geht, ist \u00f6ffentlich und die Veranstalter laden dazu herzlich ein. Die Gespr\u00e4che mit den Expertinnen und Experten k\u00f6nnen in den Pausen und nach der Podiumsdiskussion bei einem kleinen Empfang weitergef\u00fchrt werden.<\/p>
